The Last Green Pepper

The last pepper of the season. There were a couple of frosty nights this week, but the Hi-Tech-And-Antique Store staff flew into action in the middle of the night to cover our plants with protective cloths to save what may be the last pepper in Travis County, Texas.

It is a little small in stature, because the light this time of year is so dim, and the days are short, so it is not much in terms of size, but we had a bumper crop of peppers this year. We had them in omelettes for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and in spaghetti sauce for dinner. And now, they have all gone away except for this last lone memory of a bountiful summer.
