That would be the come-on line of Doctor Egon Spengler in "Ghostbusters". We were thrilled at that one particular line of the movie, and thought that our day had come at last. We believe that creatures that reproduce by spores are exciting and challenging. And for your edification, education, and enjoyment, we have included the picture of our latest foray today in the late-afternoon sun into the dark depths of the spore-bearing world. These would be the spore bearing surfaces of one of the local fern plants. These structures are known technically as sporangia. We also found some detailed instructions on how to grow ferns from spores. But as usual the staff has found something to heatedly discuss. The Feng Shui Master is arguing with the rest of the staff. He claims that the photo actually is some kind of message spelled out and he has his Chinese Dictionary out trying to find a matching Chinese character that he can decipher. The rest of the staff think that there is a message in letters or numbers, only they are unsure which numbers or letters they are. There are some of us who are excited about finding a web page that gives detailed instructions on how to grow ferns from spores, a long term dream of ours, since it can take quite a bit of time for a microscopic spore to grow large enough to plant in the ground. And to top off the excitement, we found that there is actually some kind of special growth medium specifically designed for growing fern spores. Can you top that?
All our auctions are expiring by this evening, there are only a few precious hours left to scoop up the bargains which we have offered at below-market prices. Mostly books, but a couple of audiobooks. The highlight is some Abbott & Costello audiobooks (we lost one of the CDs on the way home with the Bela Lugosi skit) but there are still 9 CDs left. That is something like 9 hours of enjoyment. It is from their radio show in the late 40's when they were in their heyday. And there are famous guest that do little skits. They are clever, witty, and much better than we expected. These two worked hard at their comic craft, and they could ad-lib at the drop of a hat with their famous co-stars like Marlene Dietrich and Lucille Ball. No bids, starting at 4.99 for nine audio CDs - the set on other websites goes for 35.00. Well we lost one CD, so the set is not complete, but you can have it for 31.00 dollars less than the other guys. Did we say it was out of print (if you can say that about an audio product)? Click on the store widget below to see the selection. We are clearing out to the walls in short order, so we can regroup our marketing strategy. And you can be one of the beta-testers of the widget below. It apparently is not part of the mainstream eBay website yet. They are still testing the widgets out we guess.
